Isles of Eden
Bahamian Out Islands await

They have been called “the Isles of Eden,” because the Out Islands of The Bahamas personify all that people envision of a tropical paradise. Stretching from a point near the Florida coast to the eastern tip of Cuba, this long necklace of gems is often described as “the real Bahamas.”

A few of these islands, relatively close to the bright lights of Nassau and Freeport, are well populated, but most of the others seem to be lost at sea. All are postcards of raw beauty and idyllic island life, as well as bastions of the rich history, tradition and folklore of The Bahamas.

While all of the Out Islands are closely related, each one has its own culture and charm, its own personality, geography and even its own weather. Some have modern hotels and marinas, and some have none; some are popular playgrounds, and some are little known and remote.

Here you will find what you’ve been yearning for. Long, empty beaches; exceptional boating, fishing and scuba diving; lazy days and quiet nights; seafood feasts and smiling faces; and clocks that run slowly–or there are no clocks at all.

Whatever their main attractions may be, all of our islands are a siren song that calls to those who want to escape the everyday and the ordinary.
